There is no doubt that dogs are amazing animals and, as research shows time and again, they have a unique bond with humans unlike any other species. With all the things our furry friends do for us – from providing literal life-saving assistance to lending emotional support in difficult times – it’s clear that we owe them a lot!

The video, which has been viewed over 1.5 million times on the charity’s Facebook page, follows a group of dogs as they are put through their paces during a training exercise in the Lake District. From scrambling up cliffs and traversing treacherous rocky outcrops to swimming across icy lakes – these furry friends never shy away from a challenge.
This is the heartwarming moment a four-year-old rescue dog demolishes a snow wall while being trained to find people lost in the cold.
Flo, who is from Austria, was participating in a drill outside Innsbruck Airport when she suddenly became interested in something behind journalist Janina Knezevic. The volunteer had buried himself waist-deep in snow and motioned for Flo to come over. At first, she just played with the top layer of snow before finally digging her way through and finding the man underneath.

After locating him, she began licking his face – much to his amusement. ‘Flo showed all her skills today,’ said Knezevic on Instagram.’Not only did she locate the person hidden in the snowdrift but also demonstrated great enthusiasm by enthusiastically licking their face.’
